As a sculptor and Master Gardener, Margareta’s current work combines an interest in botany and sculpture construction. She uses various media including plant material, fibers, metals, stone, and ceramics for organic compositions that speak to the environment and in some cases an interactive experience.
Margareta studied sculpture with Isaac Witkin, and has a degree in Industrial Technology from East Carolina University. An early interest in jewelry lead her to study with both John Satterfield and John Marshall where she honed her techniques to construct small assemblages. Her work has won many awards, including First Place and Grand Awards for her designs at the Philadelphia Flower Show.
As an educator, Margareta provides workshops for adults, children, and the special needs community through her Aurora Arts & Design located in Warren, New Jersey. www.auroraartsdesign.com She has also led classes at the Grounds for Sculpture, the New Jersey Flower and Garden Show, various arts councils in the New Jersey region.
